Ruth Spivey
Ruth Price Spivey, of Dayton, Tennessee, died on Thursday, July 14, 2016. Mrs. Spivey was 89 years old.
She was a native of Mount Olive, North Carolina and a resident of the Dayton area for the past 30 years. She was of the Church of God faith.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Johnson Spivey, Sr.; and her daughter, Judy Spivey Grainger, who passed away the night before.
Ruth is survived by her son, Floyd J. Spivey, Jr., and his wife, Linda; son-in-law, Kenneth “Garfield” Grainger; three grandchildren, Chris and his wife, Angie, Todd and his wife Rachel and Wendy; four great grandchildren; sister, Sue and her husband, Bob Samuels.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Graveside services for Ruth will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60601.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
