The Lee University women's golf team has added another academic award, and this could be the most impressive of all the earlier accolades.
On Tuesday (July 19) the Lady Flames were ranked No. 14 on the list of the Top 25 Team GPA's by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). The list recognizes the women's collegiate golf programs with the highest collective average team GPA which includes all of the team's student-athletes for the 2015-16 season.
The Top 25 includes women's golf programs in all divisions of the NCAA as shown in the Top 25 which is listed below.
"This is a great recognition for our players this past season, and highlights the balanced success they have had on and off the course," said head golf coach John Maupin.
"I'm very proud of our ladies. They pride themselves on being hard workers in the classroom.
"To have one of the top-team GPA's in all of women's college golf says a lot about them," he added. "But also it is an honor that can be shared with the entire academic community at Lee. We are blessed to have great support from the professors and staff here."
