Marty Haynes For Assessor Of Property

  • Wednesday, July 20, 2016

I worked in the assessor's office for 39 years, serving the last 33 years as director of Commercial and Industrial Property. I worked for three good men during that time and I learned a lot about what it takes to lead that office.

I truly believe that Marty Haynes has what it takes to lead this very important office. He understands the duties of the assessor and has the intelligence, integrity and patience to carry them out.

I believe some people are natural born leaders and Marty is one of them.

He is totally correct when he says that overall Hamilton County property taxes have not been increased since 2007. The only exception to this would be new growth from properties that had significant changes made to them such as new construction or remodeling. Anyone who says things contrary to this is either ignorant about the subject or purposely misstating the truth for political gain.

Marty understands TCA 67-5-1701 and what the certified tax rate is and I don't think his opponent does. Reappraisals are revenue neutral and cannot create a windfall in property taxes.

I have been told that his opponent has only voted one time in Hamilton County elections and therefore has very little knowledge of government operations here.

With the 2016 reappraisal just months away, we need a man that has a proven record of leadership that will see that your property is fairly and equitably assessed.

That man is Marty Haynes. Please join me in voting for him. He will get the job in the right way and manner.
