George Xen Blevins, 89, of Jasper, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016.
A World War II veteran of the US Army he served his country in Italy. He had worked as a supervisor in the construction field. He was a Master Mason of Lodge 297 in Jasper.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine Peoples Blevins; grandson, Jared Blevins; parents, S. H. and Ella Shoemaker Blevins; brothers, Winfred, Francis, C.E., John and Glenn Blevins; and sister, Mabel Roberson.
George is survived by his son, George Milton (Geraldine) Blevins; daughters, Freda (Dan) Brooks and Yvonne (Ott) Horn; sister, Jewell (Ed) Godfrey; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 22, from 4-7 p.m. CDT, with funeral services to follow with Ott Horn officiating.
Interment with a Masonic Service will be at 10 a.m. CDT at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens on Saturday, July 23.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
