The Chattanooga RBI and the City of Chattanooga Department of Youth and Family Development are joining forces to host 2016 RBI Southeastern Regional tournament. The tournament, which begins Friday, will continue throughout the weekend in different locations in Chattanooga.
23 teams from 10 RBI leagues from the region are competing in the Junior Baseball, Senior Baseball and Softball Divisions to earn a berth to the 2016 RBI World Series, the international championship tournament of the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program. The 2016 RBI World Series will be held in Cincinnati, OH in August and is co-hosted by the Cincinnati Reds.
RBI is a Major League Baseball youth initiative that provides young people from underserved and diverse communities with the opportunity to play baseball and softball, while also encouraging academic success and achievement and teaching important life lessons and values.
