Married couple Jimmy and Wendy Holdbrooks, both 43, were arrested on Wednesday while skinny dipping near Vincent Road, police said. Both defendants, who live in Georgia, had outstanding warrants in their home state.

The incident began when sheriff’s deputies spoke to April Pittman, 40, who said she and a friend had been in a disorder with Jimmy Holdbrooks near the boat ramp at 5400 Vincent Road.

She said Holdbrooks became belligerent, punching her friend and brandishing a pocket knife when she asked about whether a flotation device was his property. When Ms. Pittman drove away from the boat ramp, she said the suspect broke her rear window.

Police located both the Holdbrooks swimming naked in the lake shortly after. It was discovered that Jimmy Holdbrooks had an active felony warrant out of Georgia. Deputies said Ms. Holdbrooks gave a false name, birthday, and Social Security number because she also had an outstanding warrant in Georgia.

Ms. Holdbrooks was transported to the police vehicle without incident, deputies said. However, Jimmy Holdbrooks became disorderly, yelling loudly, and it was apparent that he was intoxicated and appeared to be under the influence of narcotics.

After telling him he was under arrest, police said the suspect began to verbally threaten deputies, stating, “You and your partner better get out while you can or what happened in Dallas, Louisiana, and Minnesota will happen to you two.”

Deputies said that the defendant resisted arrest, and upon transportation to the jail he began screaming and threatening police. They said he said he would kill the deputies that were present when he got out of jail in Georgia.

Police said the defendant’s demeanor became extremely violent during transit, and he began kicking the doors, ceiling, and plexi-glass divider in the vehicle, stating that he was going to escape and grab police.

Deputies said the suspect moved his handcuffs from behind his back to the front of his body and pulled a mounted rear radar transmitter off of the rear windshield, using it to strike the plexi-glass divider of the vehicle.

He was charged with aggravated assault, indecent exposure, public intoxication, resisting arrest or obstruction of legal process, escape, two counts of retaliation against judge, juror, officer, two counts of vandalism/malicious mischief, and two counts of assault.

Wendy Holdbrooks was charged with indecent exposure, false reports, theft of identity, and criminal impersonation.
