Simmons, Ed "Deerhunter" (Dayton)

Ed Simmons (Deerhunter), 69 of Dayton, Tennessee, died on Sunday, July 24, 2016.

Ed loved fishing, hunting and hunting gin-sang. He also drove a log truck for many years.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dwayne Simmons; parents, Veon and Leona Jenkins Simmons; and brother, Floyd Simmons.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Elaine Simmons; daughters, Denise (David) Muncy, Pikeville, Darice Cooper, Nashville, Angela (Jeff) Smith, Soddy Daisy and Stacie (Rick) Hayes, Signal Mountain; son, Scotty Ward, Dayton; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Bennett) Pendergrass, Athens, LeVaun (Hollis) DeBord, Croshia Dodd, and Tammy Asberry, all of Pikeville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be at noon CDT, Wednesday, July 27 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ed Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Simmons Family Cemetery. T

he family will receive friends 1-9 p.m. CDT Tuesday, July 26.

Pikeville Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
