Two All-Americans are set to represent the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga at the 2016 Southern Conference Football Media Day on Wednesday, July 27, in Spartanburg, S.C.
Senior offensive lineman Corey Levin and senior defensive end Keionta Davis are making the trip to the annual conference kickoff prior to the start of the 2016 college football season. Head coach Russ Huesman is also attending the event at the Spartanburg Marriott.
All nine SoCon head coaches and select student-athletes from each school will be on hand to meet the media and preview the upcoming season.
SoCon Commissioner John Iamarino plans to address the full group prior to the kickoff luncheon and media activities.
Huesman is entering his eighth season with the Mocs and has guided his alma mater to three-straight SoCon titles. UTC is 27-12 over the last three years, including a 19-3 mark in SoCon action.
Levin is a consensus preseason All-American and is a two-time winner of the SoCon Jacobs Blocking Award. He is rated No. 1 among all players in the league by SouthernPigskin.com and considered one of the top NFL prospects in the FCS according to Athlon Sports.
Davis is also preseason All-American after setting the UTC single-season sack record with 13.5 in 2015. SouthernPigskin.com has him at No. 3 on its list of top players in the SoCon and Athlon Sports also listed him as a top NFL prospect in the FCS.
Chattanooga has been picked to win the league each of the last three seasons. The 2016 preseason polls and all-conference teams will be announced prior to the start of the media day festivities on Wednesday.
