South Pittsburg Man Dies In Motorcycle Wreck Near Stevenson, Ala.

DeLynn Quincy Kanady, 50, of South Pittsburg, died Saturday as a result of a motorcycle accident 10 miles north of Stevenson, Ala.

State troopers said around 5:25 p.m. his 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle left the roadway for some reason. It overturned on Alabama Highway 117 around 5:25 p.m.

The son of late Darrell Dale and Glenda Sue Cochran Kanady, he was an Army veteran of Desert Storm and had also been stationed in Germany.

Family members said, "He loved his family, motorcycles, traveling out West and enjoyed cooking for friends and family."

He worked at R.G. and Associates in Chattanooga.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sherrill and Mary Elaine Kanady.

He is survived by his children, Jessica McBride of Lee Summitt, Mo., Brittany Kanady, Darrell (Kendra) Kanady and Jared Kanady, all of Trenton, Ga., and Trevor Kanady of South Pittsburg; grandchildren, Andrew, Hayden, Ella, Camden, Brielle and Cara; girlfriend, Nicki Jones, of Whitwell; brothers, Robert Kanady, of South Pittsburg, David Kanady and Michael Kanady, both of Camp Verde, Ala., and Stephen Cochran of LaFayette, Ga.; sister, Wishon Lucille Kanady of LaFayette, Ga.; step-brother and sisters, Charles, Kathy, Connie and Louise; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Rogers Funeral Home.
