Lawarren Smith is facing multiple charges in an incident Monday in which police said he vomited all over a police car - allegedly intentionally - and also tried to bribe an officer to let him go.

Smith, 23, of 6466 E. Brainerd Road, is charged with possession of a handgun while under the influence of an intoxicant, possession of oxycontin, possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a weapon, vandalism, public intoxication, tampering with evidence, theft of property, and bribery of a public servant.

Police responded on a call about a disorder with a weapon at Club Lit on Somerville Road. A security officer pointed to a car, where Smith was with another individual.

Police said there was a strong odor of marijuana inside the vehicle and Smith appeared to be intoxicated.

He had a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun and was found with oxycontin and marijuana.

Police said when Smith was placed in the back of a patrol car he began to have the dry heaves "as if he was trying to make himself sick." Police said he then began vomiting, with some of it going into the front of the patrol car.

Police said at one point Smith said he wished he had some cash on him. An officer asked if it was to let him go. He said Smith smiled and nodded yes.
