A man who spit blood in the face of a police officer is facing a variety of charges.

Kamaari Vonte McCray, 24, of 4135 Vaughn Road, was charged with indecent exposure, driving on a revoked or suspended license, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, possession of heroin for resale and disorderly conduct.

In an incident on Sunday, an officer said he was conducting a business check at the Dollar General Store on Hixson Pike when a man pulled up in a newer Dodge Charger, jumped out and went to the garbage disposal area.

He said the manager then told him that the man was urinating in the garbage area.

The officer said the man tried to run when he asked him for his driver's license. He said the man began scuffling with him, then he was able to get him in custody.

He said at that point the man spit blood in his face.

The officer said the man tried to do the same thing again after being taken to Memorial Hospital to be checked out. He said the man also threatened him.
