  • Tuesday, July 5, 2016

A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), will arrive July 10, to examine all aspects of the Hamilton County Emergency Communications District’s policy and procedures, management, operations, and support services, Executive Director John Stuermer announced on Tuesday.  Verification by the team that the Hamilton County Emergency Communications District meets the Commission’s state-of-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation – a highly prized recognition of public safety professional excellence, he said.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments by calling 423-495-1710 on Tuesday, July 12, between the hours of 1pm and 3pm.  Comments will be taken by members of the assessment team.  Telephone comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards.  A copy of the Standards is available at the Hamilton County Emergency Communications District, 3404 Amnicola Highway. The local contact is Accreditation Manager, Dr. Angel D. Geoghagan, 423 495-1711.

Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the Hamilton County Emergency Communications District’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation may send them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc.
