Citizen activist Helen Burns Sharp on Wednesday asked more transparency of city boards.
She told members of the Chattanooga Downtown Redevelopment Corporation that it often "takes the skills of a Sherlock Holmes" to keep up with the activities of the boards.
She said the CDRC "is especially challenging."
Ms. Sharp said the CDRC was voting on Wednesday morning on the sale of the Chattanoogan hotel, which she called a major item. The board was asking for public input.
But she said the meeting as of Tuesday morning was not listed on the city of Chattanooga calendar.
She said she found out about it through a newspaper legal notice.
Ms. Sharp asked that board meetings be listed on the city calendar as far in advance as possible and that there be a link to documents about the meetings.
She said it would be helpful to both the board members and the public to have a brief summation of the items to be discussed.
