Cedric Cross, 27, was arrested on Tuesday after victim Deron Colvin told police the suspect pointed a black handgun at him outside of Nine Brothers grocery store on West 38th Street.
Mr. Colvin said he was inside the store when a maroon Lincoln pulled into the parking lot and intentionally hit his vehicle. While standing outside calling for police assistance, he said the driver of the maroon car came back and stopped.
He told officers the driver yelled at him, “I did that s***. I know you shot me. What you wanna do now?”
It was then, the victim said, that Cross pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him before driving off.
Police said they observed the incident in the store’s security cameras and the car crash appeared to be done maliciously.
Mr. Colvin told police the defendant had recently been shot in Wheeler Homes and had mistaken him for having something to do with it. Officers confirmed Cross had been shot a few days prior to the incident.
The suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and vandalism/malicious mischief.
