Market Street Bridge To Temporarily Close For Cleaning Of Concrete Counterweights

  • Monday, August 1, 2016

The Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Region 2 bridge repair crew will pressure wash the two large concrete counterweights on the Market Street Bridge on Tuesday and Wednesday, beginning each evening at 8 p.m. and ending by 6 a.m. the following morning. During this work, the bridge will be closed to through traffic.

This work is weather dependent. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances delay the counterweight cleaning, it will be rescheduled to take place at a later date. Drivers are advised to use the Olgiati Bridge or the Veterans Bridge as alternate routes while the Market Street Bridge is closed.
