A Star Party at Cloudland Canyon State Park will be Saturday, Aug. 27.
The event is sponsored by the staff and friends of Cloudland Canyon State Park and will be conducted by the Barnard Astronomical Society.
Organizers said, "Come see the wonders of the night sky through our telescopes. This night Mars and Saturn will be high in our southern sky near the bright red star Antares in the constellation Scorpius.
We will also be looking at and identifying the Constellations of Summer. As always we will also be observing DSO's (Deep Sky Objects) like star clusters, nebulae and other galaxies like our own Milky Way.
The event will be at the tennis courts, from 9 p.m. to midnight.
Astronomy programs are free to all. Usual parking fee at the park applies.
