Erwin Marine Sales is planning a day of fun on the water for several kids in Chattanooga who don’t often get an opportunity to enjoy boating. Erwin Marine will host a “Wake the World” event at Chickamauga Marina on Saturday, Aug. 20, for approximately 40 kids in local Chattanooga foster homes.
Wake the World is a non-profit outreach organization consisting of a group of boat owners providing watersports opportunities to abandoned, abused and neglected children, as well as for the handicapped and our wounded warriors.
Activities will include: wake boarding, wake surfing, tubing, swimming and more. Lunch will be served for volunteers and youth. Coke and Chick-fil-a have agreed to sponsor the event. Erwin Marine Sales has organized volunteers to greet the children, help serve lunch, and pair up kids with volunteer boaters to play on the water. Volunteer Boaters have completed and passed a required boating safety course for the event.
Erwin Marine Sales officials said they are proud to be a part of this outreach to the community by offering these children a chance to enjoy a day on the water. The Wake the World event will coincide with Erwin’s Wake Boat Demo Days event that same day. Erwin Marine offers three brands of Wake Boats from the Correct Craft Family. Centurion Surf Pro Brandon Tollie will also be on site for both events to answer questions, educate, and demo available Wake Boats.
