CARTA will make some service enhancements to their fall and winter markup beginning on Sunday, Aug. 21. CARTA will start all Sunday bus routes earlier than before, with service on some routes beginning at 9 a.m. CARTA also announced that it will add Sunday service to the #9 East Lake route on Aug. 21.
Other service enhancements include Saturday service to the Enterprise South Industrial Park from Downtown Chattanooga, weekend service on the Mocs Express from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga campus to Downtown Chattanooga and to the Southside to serve Finley Stadium and part of Main Street, and the hours on the North Shore Shuttle will be extended from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
on weekdays.
Veronica Peebles, CARTA’s manager of communications, said that CARTA makes adjustments to its’ bus services and schedules typically twice a year, in the spring and again in the fall. “While we update and distribute new passenger bus schedules and information at minimum twice a year, we are constantly evaluating and planning our services and improving the service amenities to better serve our community. We hope the bus service adjustments and enhancements that we have made and are making will be viewed as positive changes to provide efficient bus service to all Chattanoogans. It is our goal that people will consider CARTA as a transportation option”, said Ms. Peebles.
