Richard Hugh Bohner died on August 11, 2016, in Chattanooga. He was 74.  

Born in Nashville on Dec. 28, 1941, he graduated from Donelson High School in 1960 and Vanderbilt University in 1964.  

The most special years of his life were the ones spent teaching and coaching at McCallie School, 1971 to 1981.

His family will miss him: three children, their mates and nine grandchildren. They are Rick and Connie Bohner and Aimee, David (Rachel), Rebekah and Hannah; Debbie and Carter Young and Wes, Campbell and Jack; Alex and Mandy Bohner and Louisa and Frances.

He is also survived by his sister, Sharon (Roger) Byers; a host of nieces and nephews, and Dottie Paden, his close friend and the mother of his children.

He was predeceased by his parents, Bayard and Betty Jane Bohner, brother, Fred Bohner and sister, Bonnie Dick.

A memorial service will be held at The McCallie School Chapel on Saturday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The McCallie School, First Presbyterian Church or any charity of your choice.
