Debbie Whiten
The Chattanoogan hotel has named hospitality professional Debbie Whiten as the hotel’s new group sales manager for the Nashville market. Ms. Whiten has worked in the hospitality industry, focusing on the corporate, association, tourism and travel markets, in the Nashville area for more than 25 years.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Debbie to The Chattanoogan’s sales team,” says Tom Cupo, regional managing director. “She has a wealth of experience in Nashville and the surrounding areas and very strong ties to the community. We look forward to her enhancing The Chattanoogan’s presence in the market.”
Ms. Whiten spent the past 15 years working at The Embassy Suites by Hilton Nashville South Cool Springs hotel as a group sales manager and catering manager. She has been consistently recognized for her sales and leadership experience and her volunteer efforts.
Ms. Whiten has worked closely with the Kingsport Convention and Visitors Bureau; Williamson County Convention and Visitors Bureau; Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau; Northeast TN Tourism Association; and Tennessee Department of Tourism. She spent more than 11 years as the director of catering/director of sales and marketing at a northeast Tennessee property and focused on the Nashville market during her tenure. Ms. Whiten is also an award-winning real estate affiliate broker.
The active volunteer has donated her time to many area organizations and served in various roles with Tennessee Society of Association Executives; Kingsport Jaycees; Friends of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt; United Way Boys and Girls Club; Kingsport (Downtown) Rotary Club; Wellmont Hospital Foundation Committee; and the Nashville Chapter of Cable. She will continue to be based in Nashville.
