East Ridge Officer Shoots And Kills Man Who Allegedly Refused His Commands And Ran Toward Him

An East Ridge Police officer shot and killed a man in an incident on Prigmore Road on Friday night.

The investigation was turned over to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

It happened about 6 p.m. near Spriggs Street after officers responded to a disturbance call.

The man allegedly refused the officer's commands and continued to run toward him.

A crowd quickly gathered at the scene after the man fell to the ground. He was reportedly shot four times in the chest.
