James Dockery
James B. Dockery, 94, of East Ridge, died on Friday, August 19, 2016, in a local hospital.
He was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church. Mr. Dockery was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Sergeant in the Army 10th Mountain Division. He received the Army of Occupation Medal (Italy), Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the WWII Victory Ribbon. He was retired from US Pipe and Foundry Company as general manager.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jettie Smith Dockery and his parents, Berlie and Bertha Williams Dockery.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon (Robert) Shannon of East Ridge, TN, Pamela D. Ridge of Newnan, GA and Patrice (Steven) Dunn of Cartersville, GA; seven grandchildren, Christopher A. Shannon, Dana Angela Edwards, Andrea D. Blackwood, Allison P. Crook, Alisa Faith Stapleton, Scott Dunn and Seth Dunn; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Imogene Henderson and Ann Britt; two brothers, Thomas P. Dockery and Doyle Dockery; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home.
