Anyone who has visited the Whitfield County Board of Commissioners Administrative Building No. 1 on West Crawford Street knows how clean the facility is.

That doesn’t just magically happen. The person responsible for keeping the building so spotless is Catrina Dodd, whose devotion to her job as custodian earned her the honor of Whitfield County Employee of the Month for July.

“Catrina is an outstanding worker,” said Cindy Sherrod, who nominated Dodd for the recognition. “She goes the extra mile to make sure our building looks its best. Cleaning up after people cannot be a pleasant task, but Catrina always has a smile on her face. You can tell by her attitude Catrina would excel in any environment. Catrina does not complain about the mud or dirt being tracked in even after she has just finished vacuuming; she just cleans it up again with her pleasant smile on her face. She takes pride in her work, and it shows. Her good attitude is infectious.”

Sherrod describes Dodd as “always cheerful and bubbly,” noting that she “always has a kind word to offer and is eager to do whatever you ask.”

“Catrina has worked very hard at greatly improving and maintaining the sanitary conditions of our building and office,” Sherrod said.

Another fellow employee, Taylor Sardina of Human Resources, also nominated Dodd for the honor.

“I think that we, in the Commissioner’s building, are lucky to have Catrina as our assigned custodian,” Sardina said. “Catrina goes above and beyond what is required and to meet some people’s special requests.”
