J.D. Masters, 80, of Rocky Face, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Regency Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Odell Masters; brother James Masters; and grandson Hayden Frye.
He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist church and also a member of Pleasant Grove Masonic Lodge. J.D. was an airplane enthusiast; he loved and was passionate about rebuilding and flying planes.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Sonya & Freddy Frye of Rocky Face and Kaye Masters of Atlanta; brother, Bill Masters of Rocky Face; three grandchildren, Leah, Jordan and Carson Frye of Rocky Face; nephews Anthony Masters, Michael Masters and Jessie Crawford; and special friend, Vera Chastain.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. at the Rocky Face Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Dewey Boyd and Rev. Keely Hasty officiating. Burial will be in Griffin Cemetery in Rocky Face.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to Mill Creek Baptist Church.
