Resurfacing Work Begins This Weekend On Waugh Street And M.L. King Jr. Boulevard In Dalton

  • Friday, August 26, 2016

Construction work will begin this weekend on Waugh Street and M.L. King Jr. Boulevard in the city of Dalton.

This project includes 3.6 total miles of milling and resurfacing on Waugh Street beginning at Shugart Road and ending at the Waugh Street Bridge, and on M.L. King Jr. Boulevard from Glenwood Avenue to Rushmore Drive (the city limits).

The project goes through the city of Dalton, and work will mostly occur at night in order to minimize the impact to daytime traffic flow within the project areas.

However, some necessary utility adjustments will be made during daytime hours following completion of the resurfacing project.

Motorists should expect single lane closures while the work is being conducted, as well as active work zones throughout these sections of Waugh street and M.L. King Jr. Boulevard.  Motorists should reduce speed and exercise caution in these work zones, official said.
