Chattanooga Lookouts Rout M-Braves Monday, 13-0

The Chattanooga Lookouts played perhaps one of their best games of the season in a 13-0 blowout victory against the Mississippi Braves.

The red-hot Montgomery Biscuits moved into first place in the Southern League North Division after they swept a double-header from Mobile while the slumping Jackson General were swept by the Biloxi Shuckers.

With seven games left, the Lookouts trail Montgomery by two games in the fight for a playoff spot.

Following their series with the M-Braves, Chattanooga's playoff hopes will be determined by their five game series against the Generals in Jackson.

After last night's heartbreaking loss the Lookouts responded by coming out of the gate on fire. Three big innings, including a five-run first, made this a non-competitive game from the start.

Chattanooga rattled off a quick five runs highlighted by a two-run single by DJ Hicks.

The five run lead proved to be plenty of breathing room for Randy LeBlanc who had a fantastic Lookouts debut. The righty only allowed five hits over seven innings while striking out five batters.

Randy Rosario followed LeBlanc after he left the game and delivered two no-hit innings. 

Up five runs the Lookouts offense continued to roll along.

In the bottom of the seventh Niko Goodrum belted a three-run home run to cap off a four run frame. Goodrum's night was not done however, as he recorded his career-high fourth hit and fifth RBI in the eighth inning. The infielders RBI single was part of the team's four run eighth inning which gave the Lokoouts the 13-0 lead.

Both D.J. Hicks and Stuart Turner drove in three runs. T.J. White and Hicks both had two-hit games and scored three times. Zach Granite singled and stole his 52nd base.

Tuesday, the Lookouts continue to race for the playoffs against the Mississippi Braves. Game time for this contest is set for 7:15 p.m. with gates opening at 6:00 p.m.
