Chattanooga Police have arrested Adrian Darnell Nixon for the homicide of Jeremy Clark.

Nixon, 29, is charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

The 28-year-old Clark was the brother of current state House candidate Dennis Clark.

The shooting happened shortly after 1 a.m. last Friday.

The victim was found at 2008 Glass St. suffering from a single gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they found Clark at JJ's Lounge suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the body and head.

Multiple empty shell casings were nearby.

Two witnesses said the shots that killed the victim were fired from a white Dodge Challenger.

Video from the lounge showed the Challenger pull around the building and come to a stop on the north side, mostly out of camera view. A short time later, shots were fired.

Two other witnesses, both of whom "are known to police," were interviewed.

The first witness said he saw Clark speaking to the occupant of the Challenger. He said he saw shots fired from the vehicle that struck the victim.

He said no one approached the passenger side of the vehicle at any time during the incident.

The witness said he was "absolutely positive" that the occupant of the white Challenger shot Clark.

The second witness said she did not have a direct line of sight, but is sure that the gunfire came from the direction of the Challenger.

Police said they found that Nixon frequently drives a Dodge Challenger owned by his girlfriend.

Nixon admitted he was driving the Challenger and was the only occupant when he was speaking with Clark.

He said a person he did not know approached his vehicle from the passenger side, reached through the vehicle and shot Clark multiple times. He said this person then fled.

Police said that statement did not match up with witness statements. They said empty shell casings were found just outside of where Nixon's driver's side door would have been.
