MOH Heritage Center Needs To Be In Coolidge Park

  • Saturday, August 6, 2016

We attended a meeting at the Chattanooga Theater Center Wednesday night to voice our opinion as to where the Medal of Honor Heritage Center should be located in Coolidge Park.  I was amazed at the opposition to the small green space that the Heritage Center would occupy (4,000) square feet, that was plainly stated at the meeting. This portion of Coolidge Park seems to be very rarely used.  However, the opposition keeps putting out the mis-information that the MOH Center wants 2.2 acres which is not true.

If you have never served and protected this great country and said the pledge that you would give your all, including your life, then I do not believe you understand how the military people feel about building this MOH Center. We as veterans have not only protected the small green space that we are asking for, but have refuted any aggression toward our country.

The 4,000 square feet out of the 566,280 square feet of the park seems like a small token of space in a park that originally was meant to honor a true American hero and all veterans.
