James, June Leach

June Leach James, 91, of Hixson, Tennessee, died on September 8, 2016.

 

She was predeceased by her husband, Jack E. James; parents, Harrison and Pearl Leach; her son, Scott James; her sister, Jewell Winstead of Alabama and her brothers, Bill and Ralph Leach.

 

June was born in Speedwell in August of 1925.  She graduated from La Follette High School in 1943.  She married Jack in 1945, after working at Oak Ridge.  They moved to Rochester, NY, where they raised their family.  She moved to Speedwell in 1981, where she lived until 2003.  June attended Well Springs United Methodist Church and enjoyed her family and friends.  She loved playing Bridge, Bible Study, gardening, chocolate candy, and hummingbirds.

 

She is survived by her children, Jill Sarisky of Durham, NC, Ron James of Indian Trail, NC, Nancy (James) Miller of Hixson, TN, Jeff James of Bartlett, IL; her grandchildren, Shan Alphin of Lymington, UK, Roz Brown  of Indian Trail, NC, Darren Sarisky of Oxford, UK, Kristin Ford of Signal Mountain, TN, Dan Sarisky of Cary, NC and Trevor James of Victor, NY; 12 great-grandchildren, her brother, JB Leach, and sisters, Evelyn Bailey, Margie Ford, of La Follette/Speedwell. 

 

A funeral service will be held at the Martin Wilson Funeral Home in La Follette, Tn., at 9 a.m. on Sept. 12.  Burial will follow at the Leach Cemetery in Flat Hollow.
