Guffey, Mary Jo (Menlo)

Mary Jo Guffey, 83, of Menlo, Georgia, died on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at her residence. 

Mrs. Guffey was born September 28, 1933, in Jamestown, AL, the daughter of the late James Luther and Julia Ann Deering Tucker.  Mrs. Guffey was a member of the Chesterfield Baptist Church, and retired from Best Manufacturing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barnard David Guffey, son, Barnard Dan Guffey.

Survivors include her children, James Willie Guffey, Shawn Guffey, Janice and Phillip Ayers, brothers, Tom Tucker, Jack and Martha Tucker, sisters, Annie Mae Jennirs, Glenda and Medford Gass, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Steve Bishop officiating with interment in the AMI Cemetery.

Mrs. Guffey will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends on Monday, Sept. 12, from 6-8 p.m.
