Houston Museum Announces Eagle Scout Project Flag Retirement Ceremony

Eagle Scout candidate Daniel Casagrande will hold a Flag Retirement Ceremony and education project on the grounds of the Houston Museum.

 

On SaturdayOct.

8, from 4-8 p.m., Daniel will place stations around the parking area to educate visitors on the proper way to retire an American flag, flag etiquette, flag history and more. He’ll also have a display of different American flags. More surprises as this project develops can be found at TheHoustonMuseum.org.

 

Amy Autenreith, museum director said, “Daniel is an exceptional Boy Scout and we are pleased to assist him with his Eagle Scout project.  I know he’s done a lot of research and preparation for this project and we look forward to hearing and seeing what he has to offer the public on behalf of the Houston Museum.”

Daniel Casagrande, 17, lives in Hixson. He attends Chattanooga State Community College through a program called Collegiate High, and he plans to continue his education and earn his Doctorate in Psychology. He is a Life scout at Troop 172, and is currently working on becoming an Eagle scout. He is a member of the Chattanooga Boys Choir. He enjoys singing, working with younger people (in scouts, choir, school, wherever), listening to music, camping, and gaming. He has spent the last two summers working at Skymont Scout Reservation as a camp counselor in the Polaris/first year scout program. “I look forward to using the skills and experience I have accumulated throughout my scouting career to help other people both in a psychology practice and in my continued involvement in scouting,” said Daniel.
