The Lee women's golf team will be in fifth place of the Ross Resorts Invitational heading into the final round of the 54-hole event on Tuesday. Rollins College finished 36 holes on Monday with a team total of 605 and owns a four-stroke lead.
Barry College (Fla.) is in second at 609. Nova Southeastern is third (615), while another Florida school, Lynn University, holds down the fourth spot at 616. The Lady Flames finished the afternoon at the Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club with a 305-315 - 620.
West Florida (621) was followed by Lenoir-Rhyne (647), Wingate (649), Carson-Newman (653) and Florida Southern (658).
Caroline Moore fired an even-par round of 72 in the opening 18 holes to pace the Lady Flames.
She finished the final 18 with a 76 and a 148 total. Entering Tuesday's play, she will be tied for fourth in the overall standings, following Paige Lyle (146) of Rollins, Lexie Toth, also of Rollins, and Lynn's Jenny Ayala, both carded 147.
Sam Burrus is tied for eighth after rounds of 76-74 – 150. Haverly Harrold is tied for 23rd (77-82 – 159) and Annika Gino rounds out Lee's top four scorers with an 80-83 – 163. Her sister, Cailey Gino, tallied an 84-86 – 170. Judianne Speach, playing in the individual competition, posted rounds of 81-84 - 165.
