2 Children Die In Chickamauga Mobile Home Fire

  • Tuesday, September 13, 2016

Two children were killed in a mobile home fire in Chickamauga Tuesday morning.

Officials said the victims were a six-year-old and an eight-month-old.

They said two adults in the home were able to rescue three other children.

They ran back inside, but were unsuccessful in rescuing the other two.

The fire apparently started when the mother lit a candle.

The blaze ignited around 6:30 a.m. A four-year-old discovered the first and alerted his father, it was stated.

The trailer, which was a total loss, was on Carabou Lane, which is off of Bowen Lane. Bowen Lane runs into Marble Top Road.
