The Sale Creek Lady Panthers improved to 26-4 overall in volleyball with a 3-0 victory over Marion County Tuesday evening, the Lady Panthers winning by scores of 25-10, 25-7 and 25-12.
In another match involving District 7-AA teams, host Notre Dame defeated Chattanooga Christian in three sets, the scores being 25-22, 25-16 and 26-24.
A third critical district match saw Silverdale improve to 4-2 in District 5-A with a 3-0 win over Boyd-Buchanan, the Lady Seahawks winning by scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 25-9.
Also, Ooltewah knocked off Bradley Central 3-1 in District 5-3A action and Red Bank beat Hixson by the same score.
Ooltewah set scores were 25-27, 25-19, 25-19 and 25-23. Red Bank scores were 25-22, 20-25, 25-19 and 25-18.
Ariana Smith had nine kills and 18 digs for Sale Creek while teammates Abbey Burton also had nine kills and Bailey Nelson 19 assists. Jayda Perry, Gracie Janow and Nelson both had four aces in the win.
A.J. Johnson had five kills and four digs for CCS while Cassie Curry finished with four kills, eight digs and a block. Rachel Kay was credited with a dozen assists.
CCS is now 4-3 in district play and 9-14 overall.
Sidney Killingsworth had 16 kills, seven digs and 3.5 blocks for the Lady Owls. Aubbie Collake contributed four kills, six aces, two digs and 1.5 blocks while Macy Milliken had four kills, 31 assists, four aces and eight digs and Courtney Swaffordadded one kill, one ace and 13 digs.
Marjorie Smith led Red Bank (17-13) with 16 kills, four blocks, eight digs and one ace. Hannah Wood registered 16 assists, 11 digs, three aces and two kills.
