Lee Volleyball Wins In Three Over Tuskegee

The Lee University volleyball team warmed up for the opening weekend of Gulf South Conference play by coasting past visiting Tuskegee University (Ala.) in Walker Arena on Tuesday evening.
 
The 3-0 (25-8, 25-8, 25-13) win improved Lee’s record to 3-2 overall. Tuskegee dropped to 2-8. Things will much tougher on Friday when once-beaten Alabama Huntsville visits for a 7 p.m. contest. The competition could go even tougher on Saturday when unbeaten GSC volleyball power North Alabama comes to Walker Arena for a 2 p.m.
contest.
 
Coach Andrea Hudson and her staff went to the bench early and some 16 players saw action before the quick three sets ended. Brooke Wilsman was the leader with seven kills, four service aces and 10 digs. Eleven Lady Flames entered the kill department with Sylvia Satori, Catherine Conley, Crystal Deeds and Sarah Beth Givhan knocking down four kills each.
 
Assisting in the kills was Kristi Farley with 14 and Sadie Johnson dished off 13 assists. Makayla Beebe went to the sport court for eight digs. The Lady Flames also served up 14 aces. Beebe paced the way with five.
 
The Golden Tigers were able to pick up just 17 kills against the Lee defense. Taliyana Bryant had four of the kills. Janae Graham registered 11 assists, while Zahria Radford was the dig leader with 14.
