Bethel Bible Village Appoints Jennifer Morrison As CFO

  • Wednesday, September 14, 2016
Bethel Bible Village President Kevin Beirne and Board Chair Kevin Whiteside announced Wednesday the appointment of Jennifer Morrison as chief financial officer.

“We are fortunate to have a financial professional of Jennifer’s caliber on our team,” said Mr. Beirne. “Jennifer has a strong background in audit and accounting and has worked previously for Unum, Rodefer Moss and Co, PLLC of Greeneville, Tn., and Joseph Decosimo and Co, PLLC.”

Ms. Morrison, age 30, most recently worked as the director of finance at Bethel Bible Village, since 2012.
A CPA licensed in Tennessee, she is a member of the AICPA and TSCPA. Ms. Morrison has an MBA from East Tennessee State University and BS in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

“Jennifer’s experience in public accounting included auditing various non-profit entities,” said Mr. Whiteside. “Fortunately for Bethel, Jennifer was searching for an opportunity that would allow her to use those skills to support a mission with a purpose.”

Although Bethel’s 64-acre residential campus in Hixson is a different environment from the corporate offices Ms. Morrison was accustomed to, the ministry’s mission to serve children and teens in crisis persuaded her she was in the right place.

“Through Bethel, God has given me the unique opportunity to use my experience and skills in a way that helps change the lives of children and families in our community,” Ms. Morrison said. “It is the perfectly wonderful balance of spreadsheets and financial statements mixed with exciting special events, programs for children and families, and so many other things I never thought my accounting and business background could lead to.

“For example, last week I was asked to be in a video with a large blue-tongued lizard named Atilla.  While reptiles are not really my thing, I promised the kids that I will actually hold Atilla if we are able to raise $10,000 for Bethel on #GivingTuesday, Nov. 29.

"While outside my comfort zone, that is the nature of the non-profit sector and what happens when you get to know the children and teens at Bethel Bible Village.  Once you see the challenges they have faced, you want to do anything to help them.”

Ms. Morrison is married to Dr. Jordan Morrison, a pharmacist at Access Family Pharmacy. They have a two-year-old named Porter.
