Lineup Of Speakers Released For Mini-Summit On Education

A lineup of speakers are on tap for the Hamilton County State Delegation’s Educational Mini-Summit scheduled for Tuesday from 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. at the Volkswagen Conference Center at Enterprise South.  The event will be headlined by Tennessee Commissioner of Education Dr. Candice McQueen. 

Members of the Hamilton County State Legislative Delegation are Senator Todd Gardenhire, Senate Speaker Pro Tempore Bo Watson, Rep. Patsy Hazelwood, Rep. Mike Carter, Rep. JoAnne Favors, Rep. Marc Gravitt and House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick. 

The list of attendees to the Mini-Summit include Jonas Barriere, executive director, UnifyED; Jared Bigham, coordinator, Chattanooga 2.0; Dan Challener, executive director, Public Education Foundation; Christina Conn, Department of Education, Chattanooga State Community College; Jim Coppinger, mayor, Hamilton County; LeeAnn Hammer, parent, president, Hamilton County PTA;  Ron Hughes, principal, Hamilton County Department of Education;  Kirk Kelly, interim superintendent, Hamilton County Department of Education; Jennifer Knowles, literacy coach, Hamilton County Department of Education; Renee Murley, Department of Education, U.T. Chattanooga; Lesley Scearce, executive director, United Way; Sabrina Smedley, Education Committee, Hamilton County Commission; and Rhonda Thurman, Hamilton County Board of Education. 

The event is free and open to the public.
