The Hixson Kmart will be closing Dec. 11 following a liquidation sale.
The Fort Oglethorpe Kmart is expected to remain open.
The entrance doors to the Hixson Kmart have signs that say no new layaways.
The Kmart chain is closing 64 more stores and laying off thousands of employees as more big box stores go under.
The Kmart on Highway 58 closed in 2012.
There were once Kmarts in East Ridge and on Signal Mountain Boulevard, but they closed.
