Music professors from Middle Tennessee State University and UTC are joining together to present the “Two Plus One” Concert on Friday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m. in the George R. Johnson Cultural Heritage Center Auditorium on the campus of Cleveland State Community College.

This concert is sponsored by the Cleveland State Music Department as part of the ongoing celebration of the college’s 50th anniversary.

Dr. Christine Isley-Farmer from MTSU, and Dr. Rebecca Tate St. Goar, from UTC, soprano and mezzo-soprano, will join forces with Joseph Walker, piano, to present a duet recital.

Works by Purcell, Schumann, Brahms, Dvorak, Paladilhe, Delibes and Laitman will be performed.  They will also perform a new piece, composed for them by Paul Osterfield (MTSU) called “Calm Waters,” with poetry by Dr. Isley-Farmer.  Much of the literature in this program is rarely performed.

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information on the “Two Plus One” concert, contact Karen Dale at 472-7141, ext. 303.
