CCS, East Ridge, GPS All Take Soccer Wins Tuesday

Baylor and Father Ryan finished with a 2-2 tie in a key region match Tuesday night.

At the 35-minute mark, Tally Bishop scored from 12-yards out for Father Ryan off an assist from Sarah Neuser.

Three minutes later, Baylor's Rachel Smith scored off a corner kick by Kamryn Bloh.

The half ended with a 1-1 tie.

In the 46th minute, Baylor went ahead when Lainee Bohannon scored off a rebound, but 10 minutes later, Hannah Morton tied the score for Father Ryan off a breakaway.


"We did not start the game as fast as we should have," said Baylor coach, Curits Blair. "I thought we played pretty well and gave our self a chance but we still keep making little mistakes that cost us."

Baylor out-shot Father Ryan 7-5. Peyton Randolph had two saves in goal for Baylor and Reed Sparta recorded three saves for Father Ryan.

Katelyn Smith, Lauren King and Cambell Green all showed strong play for Baylor.

They Lady Raiders are now 5-4-4 (1-0-3). Father Ryan is 4-2-5 (1-0-1).

Olivia Hoffman scored two goals for Chattanooga Christian and had two assists in the Lady Charger's 4-0 win at Grace Tuesday.  Addie Henry and Kate Dirkse each added a goal and Kyra Duble and Kyla Wright each had an assist.

CCS out-shot Grace 27-2. The score was 2-0 at halftime.

CCS is 9-5.

Silverdale and Polk County tied 2-2 in their district match Tuesday. They were tied at one at halftime.

Marissa Hamilton and Skylar Parton each scored a goal for Silverdale. Hamilton and Cily Fouts each had an assist.

Campbell Brown and Maggie Waldroup scored one apiece for Polk County. 

Savanah Turner made 9 saves for Silverdale. Silverdale only had five shots on goal to  Polk County's 11.
 
The Lady Sea Hawks are 7-4-2 over all and 2-2-2 in  District 5A-AA.

Serena Smith found the net with one second remaining in the first sudden death overtime to give East Ridge the 3-1 win at Hixson. A/AA District 6 Match

Halftime: ER 1 - H 1; 2nd Half - ER 2 - H 2
Serena Smith had two goals and an assist, Kendall Record scored one and Joy Crawford had an assist for East Ridge.

Morgan Dupree  scored both of Hixson's goals.

The District 5 A/AA win gives East Ridge a 5-0 district record. The Lady Pioneers are 5-2 on the season.

GPS picked up a 3-0 over Brentwood Academy Tuesday. They led 2-0 at halftime.

Emily Large, Sara Corum, and Lily Hopping scored goals for the Bruisers with assistst from Corum and Ashley Grant.

Avery Campbell had eight saves for GPS.

GPS  improves their record to 7-1-2 and  2-0-2 in region play.
