Manny Rico To Seek To Regain City Council Seat; Councilman Grohn Picks Up Papers For Mayor

Former City Councilman Manny Rico has picked up papers to try to recapture his District 7 seat on the council.

Mr. Rico lost in the last city election to Chris Anderson, who is seeking a new four-year term.

Montrell Besley, who ran for the District 4 county school board seat, has picked up for City Council District 7 as well. Erskine Oglesby Jr. may also throw his hat in that ring.

City Councilman Larry Grohn, who announced earlier that he was running for mayor, picked up papers on Tuesday morning to make the race.

He will be vacating his District 4 seat.

Incumbent Mayor Andy Berke has announced for re-election.

Chris Long, a resident of Jenkins Road, has picked up for mayor.

Susan Miller and Jay  Nevans have picked up for District 1.

Darrin Ledford is the first to qualify for the city election. He will be running in District 4.

Incumbent Moses Freeman has picked up in District 8.

Pat Benson Jr. and Shelby Patton have picked up for District 9.
