Senator Bob Corkeron Wednesday, congratulated Tennessean Katie Davis Majors on being named a “2016 Angel in Adoption” by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) for her devotion to adoption and her work in Uganda through her organization, Amazima Ministries.
“Katie’s tireless dedication to adoption and foster care is improving countless lives, and I was proud to nominate her for this award,” said Corker.
“The greatest gift we can give a child is a loving home, and I applaud Katie for making that a reality for so many children.”
In 2008, Ms. Majors founded Amazima Ministries to help feed, educate, and empower orphaned, poor, and vulnerable Ugandans. Today, she lives in Uganda with her husband, Benji, and their 13 adopted daughters.
Senator Corker met with Ms. Major’s parents, Scott and Mary Pat Davis, who accepted the “Angel in Adoption” award on her behalf. To learn more about her story, click here.
