The Lung Force Research Gala will be held Saturday, Nov. 19 with a themed dinner at the Chattanooga Convention Center and entertainment by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer – Willie Kitchens, Jr. and his Band.

The event gets underway at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, special vendors, and a silent auction. Next up are a gourmet dinner, program, live auction and the Willie Kitchens, Jr. and his Band.

Dress is black-tie-optional with a touch of turquoise- for the “Turquoise Tango" theme.

All proceeds will benefit the American Lung Association in Tennessee's life-saving pulmonary disease research and educational programs.

BlueCross BlueShield Community Trust, EPBfi, CHI Memorial Hospital, The Allergy and Asthma Group, and Brewer Media are among the sponsors for the event. Various sponsorship levels are still available. Individual reservations are $100 per person (until Oct. 10). Auction item donations are also gladly accepted.

Dr. Alvaro Valle is the honorary chair of the event.

More than 37.7 million Americans, of all ages, suffer from chronic or acute lung disease such as asthma, emphysema, COPD, or lung cancer. Locally, up to three people die a day from lung disease and smoking related diseases. Nationwide, lung cancer is one of the leading cancer killer of both men and women. In the United States, lung cancer is the #1 cancer killer of women.

The mission of the American Lung Association in Tennessee is to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. The Chattanooga community has supported this mission for well over 50 years. The community's support of this year's research dinner gala will continue to provide support for the fight for air.
