A dog has been shot and killed after attacking two men in Cleveland.
At 12:25 a.m. on Friday, Cleveland Police Department officers responded to 280 Gaut Street in reference to a dog bite call. The caller advised dispatch that a dog had bitten two people at the residence.
Officers observed two dogs running around the area of 270 and 280 Gaut Street. The dog approached an officer in an aggressive manner forcing the officer to retreat back to his vehicle. Shortly thereafter, officers observed two men running out of the residence at 280 Gaut Street screaming for help. One was being chased by a pit bull. The man then jumped on top of a car at 270 Gaut Street trying to get away from the dog; however, he fell off the car and continued to be bitten by the dog.
The officer approached the man and dog and fired one shot into the dog and the dog released the male. The officer fired a second shot, killing the dog.
The man climbed on top of the car where he stayed until treated by EMS.
