  • Friday, September 23, 2016
Louise Tallent Allison, 87, of Summervile, Georgia, died at Redmond Hospital on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from the ravages of old age complicated by pneumonia.

She was born May 13, 1929 to the late William Nimrod Tallent and Addie Elizabeth Wester Tallent; and was also preceded in death by five brothers, Alvin, Cecil, Dewey, Hoyt, and Floyd Tallent; one sister, Annie Mae Ray; and her husband, Clyde Coleman Allison.

She met Clyde after he returned from serving in WW II.  She always liked a “man in uniform” and the two were married shortly thereafter.  They lived for a time in Menlo, GA while Louise worked in the office of Dr. Lawrence.  After having children, the family moved to Summerville, where Louise has lived for the past 63 years. After her children began school, she worked at Best Manufacturing for many years before her retirement.  When Her husband passed away in 1989, she became an energetic walker and made the almost daily hike to Jim’s Restaurant for a “sweet tea and grilled cheese”, her favorite food.  In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the guitar and singing gospel songs.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Louise is survived by her son, Michael E. Allison; a daughter, Darlene A. Baker and son-in-law, Don Baker; grandson, Derek Baker, of Los Angles, CA; several nieces and nephews; and longtime childhood friends, Mrs. Frances Pettyjohn, Mrs. Jorene Boyd, Mrs. Sarah Tallent, and Mrs. Thelma Bell.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. from the J.D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Ministers Berlin Murphy, a cousin, and Robby Eversole, from Pennville Church of Christ, officiating.  She will be buried in a private family ceremony, in the shade of the pines, at Summerville Cemetery, next to her beloved spouse.

The Family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for your prayers at this difficult time.

Earle Rainwater Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
