A Touching Day Of Caring

Today more than 40 volunteers from CBL came to Bethel Bible Village to help out, working inside and outside the ministry's cottages for children. This was no ordinary United Way Day of Caring.

The team leader, Dan Summerlin, is facing a serious struggle with cancer.  Bethel's kids were so blessed that Dan would come lead this team while dealing with this challenge. So they made a card cheering on #TeamDan to help him #ThrowOutCancer.

"Our goal was to find a Day of Caring project that would be big enough so all of our team could work together in once place,” Dan says. “We also wanted a cause we could embrace in our hearts.”

Bethel Bible Village, with its 64 acre campus, was plenty big for this team. And Dan says the work Bethel does for kids in crisis and families in our community inspired them and touched their hearts.

“We are so thankful to have CBL and #TeamDan here today,” says Kevin Beirne, Bethel president. “This group came full of energy and enthusiasm. They’re not only working inside and outside on our campus, they are going to spend their lunch time eating with our middle and high school kids. That’s a day of true caring.”
