The Chattanooga Mocs men’s golf team finished 13th after a final round 296 today in the Maui Jim Intercollegiate. The Mocs shot a season-low 876 at Mirabel Golf Club to finish one ahead of Notre Dame in 14th.
Senior Brooks Thomas led the team with a career-best 1-under 212 total. That included 73 today on the par 71 tract tying for 22nd.

He did that this week.
“We scored better this week, but we still have a ways to go to be the team we think we are. It was a step forward against a really strong field. We need to keep moving forward.”
Lake Johnson posted the low round of the day for UTC with a 72. B. Thomas, Will Porter (75) and Wes Gosselin (76) contributed the team score with Andrew Weathers (78) turning in the drop number. Stuart Thomas shot 74 playing as an individual.
S. Thomas’s 217 (+4) was the second-best total among the Scenic City lads. Johnson tallied 219 followed by Gosselin and Weathers at 224, while Porter, seeing his first action of his collegiate career, had 229.
LSU (811) won the title by five over Baylor (816). Kent State was third at 828. The Tigers’ Luis Gagne won medalist honors at 17 under.
