  • Wednesday, September 28, 2016

The trial for a teen charged in a College Hill Courts shooting that left one woman dead, a toddler paralyzed, and two others wounded has been pushed back to April 4, 2017.

Criminal Court Judge Barry Steelman recently granted a request by Sims to get a new attorney, though he had been set to go to trial this month.

He is now represented by Lee Ortwein and Clancy Covert.

The shooting happened Jan. 7, 2015.

Talitha Bowman was killed and Zoey Horton, who was 15 months at the time, was the one left paralyzed. Marcel Christopher and Bianca Horton were injured.

Ms. Horton was recently gunned down. She and Christopher had been expected to be the main witnesses for the state.

Sims maintains that he is innocent.
