Jerome Bouquard "Jerry" Elmore, 28, of Jacksonville, Fl., died on September 8, 2016, in Laramie, Wy.

Jerry was born in Farragut, Tn., on January 20, 1988. He graduated from Farragut High School in 2006 and received bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from the University of Florida. 

Jerry is survived by his parents, Dr. James L. Elmore and Barbara B. Elmore; his brother Joseph C. Elmore and his wife, Jessica; his aunts and uncles, Wanda L. Rogers, Maxine & Pat Patterson, Jerry Bouquard, Suzie B. & Greg Boyle, and Joan B. & Carl Owens.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles S. & Myrtle L. Elmore and Joseph P. & Barbara S. Bouquard, and his uncle Flenoy G. Rogers. 

Jerry was active in his community. He was a member of the Village Green swim team, the Farragut High wrestling team, AYSO soccer teams, and he was a life-long avid fitness and weightlifting enthusiast. He set a world bench press record in the Junior class of the Southern Powerlifting Federation. He was involved with many charities, and he was quick to help others. Jerry was a National Merit Scholar Finalist, which provided him with a full scholarship to UF. He was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. After graduation, he became a Certified Public Account at McGladrey/RSM US Careers, in Jacksonville, FL. He later worked at the Adecco Group, also in Jacksonville, as a financial analyst. 

Jerry touched many lives in both his short life and in death. His friends have left such kind comments on his Facebook page, including "his smile lit up the room," "a young man of great character, integrity, and kindness," "they just don't get better than Jerry Elmore," "he was truly one of the nicest guys I've ever known," "he was always such a sweet guy," "he was an incredible individual...an amazing mentor and friend," "such a great guy," "truly one of the nicest guys I had the privilege of knowing," "genuinely one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and he will be missed by many," "one of the nicest and sweetest young men I have ever known," as well as others. His story has also touched people in Laramie, including one woman who stated that Jerry's death gave her renewed inspiration to reestablish contact with her estranged son. 

The family will hold a small graveside service at Chattanooga Memorial Park, on Oct. 1, at 1 p.m.

A celebration of Jerry's life will follow at St. Jude Catholic Church, in the Parish Life Center, at 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Jerry's favorite charity, Food for the Poor  at http://www.foodforthepoor.org.
