U.S. Army Veteran Held Long Career With AT&T

Raymond W. Bible, Jr., 69, of Soddy Daisy, died on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at his home.  

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Edith Bible and Mary and Harvey Williams; parents Raymond and Hope Bible.

Mr. Bible was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany during the Viet Nam War. He was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church, and the Red Bank Masonic Lodge. He was retired from AT&T after 35 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Susan D. Bible; daughters, Robyn (Steve) Tobias, and Beth (Scott) Ridge; grandchildren, Xan, Jacob, and Jase Tobias and Ansley, Cooper and Ellie Ridge; brothers, Randy (Karen) Bible and Mike (Andy) Bible; sister, Susan (Bill) Vincent; and a large family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Dr. Sam Greer officiating. Those wishing to go in procession to the cemetery, meet at the North Chapel at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

The family will receive friends at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Thursday, from 5-8 p.m.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Hooked for Life Fishing Club.

The family would like to especially thank the Red Bank Baptist Church Cozart Life Group.
